The Best Air Conditioner
We get asked this question a lot and to be honest we always answer it in the same way. The actual manufacture of your homes central air conditioner is less important than how the system is installed. By this we mean that if a system is not sized correctly or perhaps it’s not charged with the correct pressure of coolant etc. There are a number of reasons a brand new air conditioner may run at a significantly lower efficiency rating than it may be capable of. The best way to avoid a situation is to ensure that you get your system from a reputable company that is willing to stand by their installers and installation. We always stand by our installations.
The EPA in the US has gone on record saying that, when it comes to heating and air conditioning systems, “more than half of new systems in U.S. homes do not perform to their rated efficiency as a result of improper installation. In fact, improper installation can reduce performance by as much as 30%.” Of course this same stat can be applied to Ontario homes as well.
As you can see in the graph above installation quality can severely affect the performance of your new Air conditioner. Be sure that if this spring or summer you decide to get a new system for your home that you spend some time getting more than one quote but also research the company that will be installing the system.
A contractor who follows good sizing and installation practices may cost more, but the results can dramatically affect how well your new air conditioner functions
